Victorian Secret and Dining Hutch

This Victorian home was begging for a return to its former stature. The sitting room was converted into a library. Quartersawn white oak was used to highlight the house's original woodwork—the decorative balusters where custom turned to match the balusters of the staircase in the adjacent foyer. Along with the balusters, horizontal ship lapped boards were carried across the upper portion of the bookcases to deliver a feeling of continuity. Fluted columns framed the fireplace while also allowing the secret door to swing open to the office beyond.
